Fine Tuning Color on Canon Edible Paper Printers

We’ve all experienced the situation where the color is just not right enough to annoy you. Did you know that for Windows users, you have the ability to adjust the color settings on your Edible Paper Printer if it was manufactured by Canon? It’s true, and I’m here to show you how to do it. This article is a little more technical in nature, but I promise I will keep it simple for you, it’s what the Edible Tech Guru does best!

This method works for the Canon TS702a and TR8620a. It should work for other Canon printers, but I have only tested it with these two. Both printers are available from Icing Images.

Below is a slideshow with instructions so you can follow along to make the changes yourself.

1. Click on the Start menu.

2. Click on Settings.

1. Select Bluetooth & devices.

2. Select Printers & scanners.

1. Select your edible paper printer from the list on the right.

2. Select Printer properties.

1. Make sure the Quick Setup tab is current.

2. Double check that your Media Type is set to Matte Photo Paper.

3. Double check that your Print Quality is set to Standard.

4. Select the Main tab.

5. Double check (again) that your Media Type is set to Matte Photo Paper.

6. Change the Color/Intensity to Manual.

7. Select Set....

8. Make sure the Color Adjustment tab is current.

9. Adjust your color settings. These will vary depending on the manufacturer of your edible ink. The settings shown here seem to work for many brands, so you can start here if you wish.

10. When done, select OK to save your changes.
